[ˈin(t)əˌɡrādəd]

Integrated : as defined by the dictionary, “combining or coordinating separate elements so as to provide harmonious, interrelated whole.”

For the twenty years I have been at Plymouth we have used Mac computers. Over those twenty years, my Mac technology inventory has increased. I have a Macbook laptop, an iPad, an iPhone and most recently an Apple Watch.

Through my Apple iCloud, all of these individual components mesh together to keep me up to date. I have apps on my devices that sync together to manage my calendar, my tasks, and my contacts. I have other apps that connect to let me know when I have reached by daily exercise/movement.

Every device I have for work, exercise and entertainment is integrated together. They are separate elements that are interrelated to connect as a whole.

Then I read, “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)

We being the body of Christ are integrated together. We live as separate individuals, but we are called, because of the blood of Christ, to live as His body. We combine our gifts, talents, personalities in to one harmonious Christ.

Paul goes on to say that each brings a gift to the body. And each gift is used according to its purpose for the glory of God. A weaver blends different threads to make something beautiful. A puzzle is many pieces until it is completely put together.

I would like challenge us to bring our gifts to each other as the body of Christ. Be integrated!

Be blessed and be a blessing!
