My music tastes are, dare I say, pretty eclectic. If you were to ever sit in my office any day, or walk by, you will hear a different style of music. One day it may be classical or choral music. The next day the music option may be contemporary Christian, worship or a cappella quartet. Another day, it is classic rock or 80’s music. As of today, March 1, it’s 50’s music listening to the soundtrack from American Graffiti.
Today’s 50’s music love goes back to sitting in Johnny Rocket’s in Gatlinburg Winterfest weekend 2 weeks ago. I was sitting in a both with 3 other people and they had a table top juke box. So as the four of us rolled through the playlist, I would start singing out the songs to the amazement of the “younger” crowd. It also takes me back to listening to the LP back growing up.
My love for music is not secret! Music is what drives me. Songs trigger memories and highlights of my life. In a sense, I have my own soundtrack. And depending on what my mood, thought or flavor that appeals to me, the soundtrack replays the scenes of my story.
What music tells your story? Maybe you’re like me and have several soundtracks you follow. Maybe you have one style that you primarily listen to. Either way, don’t be afraid to share your song story.
I guess we all have Jubal (see Genesis 4:21) to thank!!
