“Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave” – song entitled Thank You, Ray Boltz, 2001
It’s Missions Month! It’s a time for our church family to focus on ministries outside of our own four walls that we sponsor. We support local ministries through our hashtag checkins on social media. We contribute to ministries in Malawi, northern Michigan, and Shults-Lewis.
The song by Ray Boltz is about a person who has passed from this life and passes in to the arms of God. As this person stands before the Lord, a parade of people come before the one who has passed. Each of these have a story to tell of how this one person contributed to them knowing the Lord. As they tell their story, they say, “Thank you!”
I was reminded of this song recently with the passing of Dr. Billy Graham. He was blessed with a voice and platform to share faith to millions over his lifetime. He had influence of presidents, even being dubbed as “America’s Pastor”.
You can have an influence too! You may not feel like you’re a Billy Graham. Here is what you can do. 1) Contribute financially to support ministries sharing the gospel of Christ. That’s kind of easy!! 2) Look for opportunities to share your own story. You have a story! If the gospel has changed your life, you have a story!
You never know! Someone might come to you and say, “Thank you! I’m a life that has been changed by what you did!”
Be blessed and be a blessing!
