We’re taking a break from the Be Right series for this week. I want to share with you a class we’ll be having at Plymouth starting Sunday, June 3.
In a recent Counseling Today article, anxiety and diagnosed anxiety disorders affect 18% of adults and 25% of those 13-18 years old. While circumstances creating anxiety and fear are varied, the “feelings” and “symptoms” related to anxiety disorders are relatively the same.
What is curious to me is how that statistic relates to Christians. If we play out this statistic in the Plymouth church, that would mean approximately 1 out of 5 adults and 1 out of every 4 teenage student struggles with anxiety.
There is also the argument for “do not be anxious about anything” (Philippians 4:6) because of our faith in God.
So how do Christians who struggle with anxiety and anxiety disorders deal with this internal conflict?
On Sunday, June 3 during our morning Bible class time, we will explore this with using Max Lucado’s Anxious for Nothing video as our basis of study. We also look at various ways of monitoring and maintaining our feelings of anxiety in a godly manner.
Join me for this journey! If you are interested, just show up in the college classroom at 9:30 am.
Be blessed and be a blessing!
