2018 is coming to a close and 2019 is just around the corner. For our family, this has been a year of blessing with a new little girl born. But she didn’t come without angst as she had surgery.
It’s also that time of year that we typically make resolutions for this next year in hopes of keeping them longer than a week. It’s about weight, more Bible reading or whatever.
Recently I met with a client. In our latest session, I told her that I had been leading the sessions as I saw it trying to help her go through life as stressless as possible.
So, I told her to begin to think of goals that she would like to have. She is to write short term and long term goals. Additionally, she is supposed to write action statements to go with the goals. Action statements are the “how will I do this” to her goals.
As we enter 2019, how about we all have this goal every day. Jesus says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
So, if you chose, this is your goal for 2019 – to live this out every day. What are you going to do about this? What actions do you want to take to make sure that these goals are met? Only you can determine those!
So as 2018 ends and 2019 begins, think and write and dream about what this would look like and how you want to accomplish this.
Be blessed and be a blessing!
