Taking a break this week to talk about a seminar that the Plymouth Church of Christ Student and Family ministries are hosting on October 18-19.

Dr. Adam Mearse says, “Forget about THE talk!” You know the one, parents! Every parent for thousands of years have dreaded the sex conversation. Companies have spent millions of dollars using sexual pictures trying to promote their product. Culture uses a host of ideas regarding sex that contract with the Christian worldview.

Adam did some research and from his research he wrote a book, We Need to Talk: Creating space for healthy conversations about sexuality. He is coming to share his insight to us and our community to help “parents establish an environment in which sexuality is openly discussed as part of normal, healthy Christian [family] life.”

On Friday (18th), we’re hosting area church leaders from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Cost for this is $10 per person (paid at the door) and will include lunch. During this time, Adam will share with them how churches can encourage these conversations in their families.

On Saturday (19th), Adam will have three sessions for parents and teenagers starting at 8:30 am. We’ll finish around 12:30 pm. This is a free session!! Here are the topics:
