COVID-19 & You

So here we are! Just a week ago, news reports were sharing a “life as normal” message. In a matter of hours that changed. So we are hearing terms through out like “wash your hands” (duh! Should have been happening anyway!) and “social distancing”.

So let’s have some fun with this a little bit and maybe learn a little bit too:

CAST – “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Whatever fear and anxious feelings you’re experiencing, God is ready to listen.

OTHERS – “Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16) Others are leading the fight for our health. Pray for all because we are all being affected by our current status.

VALUE – “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7) Understand that God is in control and gives us value. He will provide and protect. Also assess those things that are most valuable to you and embrace these moments.

INITIATE – “If it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” (Romans 12:7-8) “If it is” within us to do something, do it. Paul gives us several options here!! Social distancing gives me a new look at how I can serve, teach, encourage, and bring cheer.

DISCERN – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5) Discern to know there are things you can manage: your emotions, your anxiety and your connections. Above all, trust in God to get your through even your own emotions and anxiety.

As we all work through this, may we all look at new ways God can be seen in us. Let us be a blessing as we are blessed!
