Most Wonderful Time

Most of the people I’m pretty close to are very aware of my love for all things Christmas. But this isn’t one of those posts . . . not this week!

I just want to reach out and say how much I appreciate my church family! For at least 12 years, since 2009, at least that’s as far back as my Facebook memories show picture documentation, we have provided food bags and gifts for families at Christmas. It started off relatively small in numbers 400-500. For a number of years, we had ballooned up to around 1400. But in recent years, we have just done around 800.

The other side of this Christmas party is the Giving Tree. Our church members will adopt families and purchase Christmas gifts for families in need. This year we are going to have about 160 families that will have Christmas gifts for their children.

What a blessing it is for me to be on the front row watching all of this happen! A call goes out for help to bag groceries and 50 people show up. The Giving Tree goes up usually around the first of November and by mid-November all of the families had been adopted.

So Christmas is coming! It’s the most wonderful time of the year for me for a lot of reasons, but these are just a few!!

Be blessed in your reaching out to those in need as you bless others along the way!
