There are a lot of things I remember about my dad. He was a farmer and a handyman. He was a fairly good singer. He led worship when I was a kid growing up and sang the bass part when he wasn’t. Although as he aged, he was pretty loud and sometimes a bit off time, not off key, off time. He kind of went as his own tempo.
Dad had a great laugh. It wasn’t really one of those belly buster laughs. But you could tell when he was laughing. His body would shake a bit, and he would make these small grunts. Dad was always up for a good joke.
So I asked friends to send me a dad joke. I think dad would have like these:
- Did you hear about the priest who studied to become a lawyer? He is now a Father in law. – Michael F
- I want to tell you about the girl who only eats vegetables. You probably never heard of herbivore. – Chris R
- A guy called me the other day to sell me a coffin. I told him that’s the last thing I need. – Mike McB
- The Beastie Boys are planning a new 5-part anthology. They are releasing parts A thru D to the general public but you have to fight for your right to part E. – Jim T
- Sorry. I can’t share here. I keep all of my dad jokes in a dad-a-base. – Sam P
- Did you hear about the guy who had his entire left side cut off? Don’t worry, he’s all right. – Jim P
- What kind of birds stick together? Vel-crows. – Paul C
- Why do giants charge extra for following first in first out? Because fee fifo fum – Mike N
- My wife said I hafta stop acting like a Flamingo around the house. I had to put my foot down!! – Kevin K
- I don’t know if my ceiling is the best one, but its up there! – Matt B
- What do you call a hen looking at a lettuce leaf? A chicken sees-her-salad – Lori C
- A lady came in the bank to check her balance….So I pushed her over – Amelia C

- What do you call an upset German? A sour kraut. – Aaron B
- Bonus: How did the dad know he was going to have a kid? It was a-parent. – Aaron B
Laughter is a gift from God. After all, have you looked at some of the animals he’s created? You can’t help be know that He laughs and has given us the gift of laughter. So as we celebrate and remember dads, we remember the jokes dad gave us as well. I know my dad would have loved these and laughed!!
Be blessed as you laugh! Be a blessing along your way as you share the gift of laughter!
