Last week, I talked about tapping into the right side of our brain. For some of us, this is extremely easy. We connect and bond with others over the arts. Music, drawing, sculpture, painting and the like speak to our very soul. We feel energized whether we are a participant or a spectator. Some of us frequent art museums as means of charging our artistic and creative spirit, looking for inspiration.

I know there are some left brainers out there as well. You need to feel the love as well. You need to know that God has made you just as you are because we need the thinkers, the fact checkers, the creators and testers of ideas.

And in being these left brain type people, you are not only created by God, but in your creating and thinking, you imitate God.

From the very beginning, and the creation story, read this:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2, NIV)

There was nothing – God spoke. God had this idea and began the creation based on his idea. But notice the rest of the creation story and the organization, planning and structure of how it happens.

• Day 1 – Light and Darkness => Day 4 – Sun, Moon and Stars
• Day 2 – Sky and waters => Day 5 – Animals that inhabit the sky and water
• Day 3 – Separation of land and water => Day 6 – Animals, including humans, that inhabit the land

God takes the ideas and creates with his voice and his hands (Day 6 – humans).

And since we are created in the image of God, we all have some left brain thought processes. We all have ideas, can think logically, can organize, plan and have structure.

So celebrate you left brainers!! Keep thinking and planning and having ideas!! When you do, you celebrate these God given gifts!
