1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100)
It is the season of gratitude. Like many, I am joining in this season by claiming thanksgiving.
I am thankful for family! It starts with a family of nine with mom, dad and siblings. Though mom, dad and two sisters have passed on, my memories of them daily are a continuation of my gratitude. It moves on to my own family. This one started in 1989 and has expanded with daughters, bonus sons and grandkids. I celebrate the joy we share in the times we are able to be together.
I am thankful for church! The appreciation of God’s church starts as a young child when family made it priority to connect to the people of God. I am especially thankful for the music that I have been taught and have been able to share over my years connected to church.
I am thankful for a good God! So many blessings! So few words!! Sometimes I just feel that my words are not even enough! Maybe you feel this way too! That is where the goodness of God continues to pour into us. Here is another reminder – our words will never be enough to express how good God is. Yet, we continue to encourage each other in that goodness. We bask in His glory and receive the blessings.
That is why the Psalmist invites us to shout! It is the overflow of God’s goodness pouring out of us over and above what we ask or imagine.
Shout your gratitude! I’ll be loud too! Let’s be loud together!!
Be blessed in your thanksgiving! Be a blessing to others in thanksgiving!
