Welcome to November!
This is a month when we pause to give thanks and reflect on God’s blessings. As we prepare to bless families in need with Thanksgiving dinners, we also want to focus our hearts on gratitude together as a church family.
During this month of Thanksgiving, the church leadership invites you to join us for “Give Thanks!” — a four-week daily reading and reflection plan that begins today and continues through the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Each week will center on a different theme with Bible verses to guide your reflections. The daily verses will be shared through email and our Facebook page, Monday through Friday. On Sundays, we’ll provide a prayer to help focus our hearts on that week’s theme, and on Saturdays, a prayer of reflection to close out the week.
Weekly themes are:
- Week 1 – Give Thanks by Remembering
- Week 2 – Give Thanks for What God Has Done
- Week 3 – Give Thanks for Who God Is
- Week 4 – Give Thanks for the Church
We pray that this month deepens your gratitude and draws you closer to God through His Word.
May each day be filled with thanksgiving and joy!
So as we begin today, with this week of remembering, here is a prayer to pray:
Gracious and mighty God,
We give You thanks as we remember the wonders You have done.
You have shown Your power and faithfulness throughout all generations,
and Your deeds remind us that there is no one like You.
Just as the psalmist said, we will remember Your works
and meditate on all You have done.
From the parting of the sea to the giving of Your Son,
Your mercy and grace have never failed.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of salvation—
not because of our own works, but through Your amazing grace.
As we recall Your goodness, strengthen our faith and fill our hearts with gratitude.
Let our remembrance move us to worship and to trust You anew today.
We give You thanks, for You are great and greatly to be praised.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
