It was supposed to storm here last night. Lots of rain, wind, and possible hail. I headed home from the church office anticipating getting the house set for whatever the storm may through at us. Then I started to praise! Yep, praise!
As I’ve said before, my mind is a soundtrack. It’s constantly humming or singing through whatever song starts to play up there. Last night, it just so happens I started singing and humming these songs:
Praise You in the Storm – Casting Crowns
And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I amAnd every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this stormStill – Hillsong
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still know You are GodOceans – Hillsong
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown
Where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours
You are mine
When you have to face storms, what do you do? I find that songs of praise often give me the peace that I need to weather the storm. And that works too when I’m faced with other types of storms – stress, anxiety, crisis, etc.
Be blessed in those times of stormy weather! Be a blessing to others along the way in their storms!
