Goodness and faithfulness are qualities that are often revealed over time. They are less about one big decision and more about the small choices we make every day.
Goodness asks, “What kind of person am I becoming?” Faithfulness asks, “Can others count on me?”
From a therapeutic perspective, healthy relationships are built on trust, consistency, and integrity. Our words and actions teach people whether they can feel safe with us. Faithfulness doesn’t mean being perfect; it means being dependable, honest, and willing to keep growing when we fall short.
Spiritually, faithfulness is also about remaining connected to God when life becomes difficult. We don’t always see immediate results from doing what is good, but God is forming something in us through our everyday choices.
The small things matter.
A Practice for the Week
Think of one area where you want to become more faithful—a relationship, a commitment, a spiritual practice, or simply keeping your word.
Ask yourself: What is one small, good thing I can consistently do this week?
Then do it—not because it seems significant, but because faithfulness is formed through small things done consistently.
Perhaps the question this week isn’t, “Did I do something great?” It is: “Am I becoming someone others can trust?”
Prayer:
God, form goodness and faithfulness in us. Help us live with integrity, keep our commitments, and remain faithful even when no one is watching. May our everyday choices reflect Your character and become a blessing to those around us. Amen.
Be blessed!! Be a blessing in doing good and being faithful!!
