“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” — Psalm 103:2
November often brings thoughts of Thanksgiving, family gatherings, favorite foods, and the traditions that make this time of year special. It is also an opportunity to slow down and reflect on the blessings that fill our lives. But what if counting our blessings became more than a seasonal activity? What if gratitude became a daily practice that shaped how we see God, ourselves, and the people around us?
Throughout November, we invite you to join us for Counting Your Blessings, a 30-day journey through Scripture designed to help us recognize God’s goodness and respond with grateful hearts. Each day includes a Bible reading and a simple activity to help put gratitude into practice. Some days will encourage us to notice the gifts we often take for granted. Others will remind us to appreciate the people God has placed in our lives, trust His faithfulness during difficult seasons, and discover ways to become a blessing to others.
Gratitude doesn’t mean that life is always easy or that we ignore our struggles. We can experience disappointment, grief, uncertainty, and joy all within the same season. A grateful heart makes room for the full range of our experiences while continuing to look for signs of God’s presence and faithfulness.
As we move through the month, our focus will follow a simple progression: Notice, Remember, Give Thanks, Bless Others, and Live Gratefully. We begin by recognizing God’s goodness, learn to appreciate the people and experiences that shape us, and ultimately consider how the blessings we receive can become blessings we share.
You don’t need to set aside a large amount of time each day. Read the Scripture, consider its message, and try the suggested activity. Invite your family to participate, share your reflections with a friend, or simply take a few quiet moments with God.
Our hope is that by Thanksgiving Day, we will have done more than count our blessings. We will have practiced seeing them, giving thanks for them, and sharing them with others.
Join the Plymouth Church of Christ through this reading plan throughout the month of November as we COUNT OUR BLESSINGS!
